Waterbed Heaters

Waterbed heaters are what make sleeping on a waterbed comfortable – without heat, the water would be too cold to sleep on comfortably throughout the night.  That’s why it’s so important to invest in quality a quality waterbed heater that will last for years.

Waterbed heaters generally come in two different types.  The first is for more traditional wood frame waterbeds and can also be used with some soft-side models if they have at least 8-9 inches of water in them.  These heaters use a 300 watt heating pad that is designed to lie either on the wooden platform beneath the mattress.

For soft-side mattresses with less than 8 inches of water and any tube filled mattresses, you will need to look at 150 watt waterbed heaters.  These heat the water just as effectively, but reduce the chance of overheating that a higher wattage might cause with these mattresses.  The 150 watt waterbed heaters are also appropriate with any waterbed mattresses containing a lot of foam or fiber content, since this reduces water circulation.

Quality waterbed heaters today are designed with easy-to-use digital controls with a light (for easy adjusting at night when the lights are out), precision circuitry with high-grade insulation and built-in thermostats.  Waterbed heaters will usually carry a warranty of at least 5-7 years, guaranteeing you many years of warm, restful sleep at just the right temperature.
